Despite a lack of opportunities in a male-dominated corporate world, there are a number of high-profile female business leaders making an impact on the global stage.

Have you ever wondered how they succeeded against the odds?

Most of the women disrupting industries and making news around the world have an idea, a strategy, and a determination made of steel.

To compete and win in the business world requires more than luck and a great product. It requires doggedness and a good strategy.

The question is this, do you have a strategy?

Whether networking through online social sites or at professional association meetings and events, it’s essential that women in business use networking as a strategy to build partnerships, secure funding, find clients, and keep their names and businesses relevant in their communities, cities, and counties.

But can women compete with sharks and win? The answer is yes. Women lead differently than men; qualities such as being holistic, collaborative, inclusive, and consultative are strengths that will help you succeed in a global economy.

I recommend that every woman should employ the use of networking and collaboration as their first strategy in building a local or global brand. If you cannot leverage, then you cannot succeed in the new economy.
