Prof. Dr. Rajaa Aghzadi

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Professor Dr. Rajaa Aghzadi is an accomplished Moroccan surgeon, educator, and advocate for women’s health and equity, especially in the realm of cancer care. A professor of visceral surgery since 1991, she specializes in breast cancer and is dedicated to enhancing treatment options for women across Morocco and Africa.

Since 2001, she has led the Moroccan Association for the Fight against Breast Cancer (AMLCS), an organization focused on prevention, education, and support for breast cancer patients. Through her leadership, AMLCS has become a crucial force in raising awareness about breast cancer and improving early detection services.

Prof. Dr. Aghzadi is also known for her contributions to health diplomacy and geopolitics,
particularly in African contexts. Appointed as an honorary consul in Africa in 2010, she works to strengthen health and gender equity across the continent.

Her expertise has earned her the presidency of the Health Diplomacy Committee within the International Federation of Consular Associations (FICAC), where she plays a pivotal role in advancing health-related issues on a global scale.

Moreover, she heads the Forum for Gender Equity and Health Sovereignty in Africa, an initiative that fosters discussions on health policies and gender equity, aiming to enhance access to quality healthcare for women across the continent.

In recognition of her profound impact, Prof. Dr. Aghzadi was appointed by King Mohammed VI to the Special Commission on the New Development Model for Morocco, where she contributed insights on healthcare reform and sustainable development. She is also the president of
