MY THOUGHT ON WOMEN COMPETITING AGAINST ONE ANOTHER
Is there truly a competition among women?
When you start building a house, and your friend start hers the next day on the next street, would you say she is in competition with you? What if she had her plans all along?
Over the years women have been instigated against each other simply because they got inspired by what their friends are doing and they started theirs.
Most often we forget to see the leadership in us that is inspiring people to follow us and try to put their feet inside our shoes. Do not try to hide your business model, lower your standard or reduce your light because you think someone is copying you or stealing your idea. Don’t forget that the more you give, the more you get. No one can successfully steal water from the ocean.
A true leader is the one that inspire and motivate others directly or indirectly to dream and achieve more.
I have seen many women close to me replicate my business model, do what I do, exactly how I do it and succeeded against the odds.
Many time, my Lieutanants have broken out to launch their own organizations, using the same model and the same strategy I used – and I have never been angry. Why should I be sad, angry or disappointed by someone who draws inspiration from me to fly? Why should I be jealous of people that grew under my wings?
Afterall, there is nothing new under the sun. Everything you’re doing right now has been done by someone before. You may have twisted it, redesigned it or changed it. It doesn’t matter how you try to improve on someone’s model, just give credit to those whose ideas you borrowed and whose footsteps you followed to get to where you are today. If you will swallow your pride and give honor to whom honor is due, then no one will accuse you of competing with your sister. Instead everyone will congratulate you for flying higher.
